Busan Metropolitan Office of Education's Southern District Office is operating the 'Arts, Ecology, Marine, and Global Citizenship Convergence Program' to cultivate students' global citizenship qualities.
The Southern District Office announced on the 13th that it will run a school-visit program targeting 15 middle schools and approximately 1,550 students until November 10.
The Southern District Office prepared this program to foster global citizenship qualities and help develop creativity through experience-centered classes and arts experience activities.
This program is composed of 10 themes linked to the curriculum to strengthen global citizenship education capabilities, including ▲One World, One Story Creation (Webtoon) ▲Musicals that Break Prejudices, and more.
Courses combining arts activities such as 'Musical,' 'Hip-hop & Rap,' 'Webtoon,' 'Video Production,' and 'Minhwa Painting,' which are difficult to open and operate at individual schools, with ecology and marine themes are offered. These courses are conducted as 2-hour block-time experiences centered on global citizenship education.
To ensure smooth program operation, the Southern District Office held a 'Workshop to Enhance Instructor Expertise for the Arts, Ecology, Marine, and Global Citizenship Convergence Program' in March for social studies lead teachers and instructors.
Park Guija, Superintendent of the Southern District Office of Education, said, "This experience-centered program will greatly help students grow as global citizens."
