Recruitment for Participants in Yeosu Eco International Music Festival 'Masterclass'

Flute? Cello? Violin Fields Open to Under 30s from Jeonnam

Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) announced that it is recruiting participants for the Yeosu Eco International Music Festival 'Masterclass' until the 17th.


The 'Masterclass' is one of the events of the Yeosu Eco International Music Festival, where professors such as ▲ flute Oh Shin-jung (Professor at Inje University) ▲ cello Song Young-hoon (host of KBS Classic FM's 'Song Young-hoon's Home Music') ▲ violin Lee Kyung-sun (tenured professor at Indiana State University) share their performance know-how.

The program will be held at Yeosu Jinnam Arts Center from April 29 to May 20.


Eligibility requires applicants to be under 30 years old, from Jeollanam-do, and able to play instruments in their respective fields.


The city plans to select 5 to 7 participants per part through evaluation of application documents and performance videos, and selected participants will have the opportunity to perform as artists at the 2023 Yeosu Eco International Music Festival.


A city official stated, "Starting with the Masterclass introduced for the first time at this year's Yeosu Eco International Music Festival, we will strive to discover and nurture local talents who will contribute to the development of the classical music community."


Meanwhile, the 'Yeosu Eco International Music Festival' will be held from June 15 to June 18 at GS Caltex Yeulmaru, hosted by Yeosu City and organized by the Beommin Cultural Foundation.
