Vote for the 3 Final Candidate Books

Busan Gijang-gun is conducting a vote among residents until the 30th to finalize the selection of the ‘2023 Gijang-gun Book of the Year.’

Now in its 6th year, the ‘Gijang-gun Book of the Year’ is part of the ‘One City One Book’ movement, where the local community reads a single book together and participates in reading activities.

To differentiate from Busan City's ‘One Book One Busan’ initiative, Gijang-gun selects a children’s book and carries out various reading activities.

The county selected 10 candidate books for the Book of the Year from 30 books recommended by literary award winners and reading-related institutions, after review by an internal selection committee and consultation with the hub library council.

Subsequently, a selection panel composed of reading experts such as children’s authors, literary critics, and professors deliberated and chose the final 3 candidate books.

The final candidate books are ▲ 6-Minute Novelist Ha Jun-su (Lee Soo-yong/Wisdom House) ▲ Friends of Ki So-young (Jung Eun-joo/Sakyejul) ▲ Best Friend from Today! BFF! (Jian/Munhakdongne). After online and offline voting by residents, one of these will be selected as the Gijang-gun Book of the Year.

Online voting is conducted on the Gijang-gun Integrated Library website, and offline voting can be done using ballots available at the Gijang-gun Public Library, town and township offices, and elementary schools.

Once the Gijang-gun Book of the Year is selected, various participation events such as meetings with the authors, reading report contests, and distribution of reading activity materials are planned.
