Dong-A University College of Social Sciences Holds the 2nd Colloquium

The College of Social Sciences at Dong-A University will hold the "2023 2nd Colloquium" on the 18th.


The event will take place on the 6th floor of the Comprehensive Lecture Building at the College of Social Sciences, Bumin Campus, Dong-A University, starting at 5:30 PM, and is open to everyone.


On this day, Professor Jeong So-young from the Department of Media Communication will give a presentation titled "Parasocial Interaction between audience and virtual idol/influencer, Hyper-reality, and role of empathy and immersion."

Professor Jeong will examine the effects of Immersive Communication (IC) based on online experiments involving Japan's virtual idol Hatsune Miku and China's virtual influencer Ayayi during this colloquium.


Professor Jeong, who earned her Ph.D. from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, USA, joined Dong-A University this year and teaches subjects such as human-computer interaction and new media technologies.


She has previously served as a researcher at MindLab and the Information School at Syracuse University, a professor in the Department of Journalism and Communication at Renmin University of China, and graduated from Sungkyunkwan University.
