People's Daily of China: "President Xi Jinping Visits LGD Guangzhou Plant"

Chinese President Xi Jinping visited the LG Display Guangzhou production base located in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, according to the People's Daily on the 13th.

According to the report, President Xi visited the LG Display factory and Guangqi Ion, an electric vehicle company under Guangqi Group, a Chinese state-owned automobile company, consecutively the day before. The People's Daily explained that through the inspection of local industrial facilities, President Xi understood the promotion of high-level opening-up to the outside world, the qualitative development of manufacturing, and the promotion of scientific and technological innovation in enterprises, and exchanged with company representatives and researchers.

The Guangzhou LG Display production base, constructed through a 70-30 joint investment between LG Display and Guangzhou Development Zone in 2006, has been mass-producing 8.5-generation organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panels since 2020.
