Hyundai Motor Group Donates 2 Billion KRW for Gangneung Wildfire Damage Recovery

Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 13th that it has donated 2 billion KRW to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association to aid in the recovery efforts for the wildfire damage that occurred in Gangneung.

In addition to the donation, the group deployed four urban-type laundry relief vehicles and one integrated disinfection relief vehicle to the affected areas. These vehicles assist in processing contaminated laundry and enable rapid disinfection response at the disaster sites. One mental and physical recovery bus was also deployed to support rest for affected residents and disaster site workers.

The urban-type laundry relief vehicles dispatched to the site are equipped with three 18kg washing machines, three 23kg dryers, and one generator, capable of processing approximately 1,000kg of laundry per day. The disinfection vehicle is equipped with electric-powered sprayers, fogging and fumigation disinfectors, and protective suit sets. The mental and physical recovery bus includes massage chairs and simple cooking facilities, allowing support personnel at the site to rest.

Furthermore, free vehicle inspection services will be provided to customers in the affected areas. When fire-damaged vehicles are brought in, repair costs will be discounted by up to 50%, and free car wash services will be offered after repairs are completed. This service is available to customers without comprehensive car insurance and requires a damage confirmation certificate. Previously, the company also donated 5 billion KRW during the wildfires in Uljin and Samcheok last year.
