Gyeonggi Province will lend interactive robots to 240 daycare centers in the province this year.
On the 13th, the province announced that it plans to lend the artificial intelligence (AI) robot 'Alpha Mini' to 240 daycare centers again this year, following last year, to provide young children in the province with opportunities to experience advanced technology.
Since last year, the province has been running a program that lends the AI robot 'Alpha Mini' to daycare centers that wish to experience it for one month.
Alpha Mini is a small robot measuring 24.5 cm in length and weighing 0.7 kg. It can show dance or yoga moves, play children's songs and fairy tales, and engage in voice conversations such as riddle games and answering questions.
The province will provide 40 Alpha Mini units sequentially for six months through the Childcare Comprehensive Support Center. Previously, last year, the province lent robots to 252 daycare centers (5,050 children) in the province.
