Namhye-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is preparing and actively promoting a 'domestic demand revitalization' plan focused on activating the tourism industry, strengthening support measures for small business owners, and managing price stability.
This domestic demand revitalization plan by Namhye-gun aims to align with Gyeongnam Province's policy direction on price stabilization and domestic demand activation. The focus is on promoting regional economic revitalization through active attraction of tourists, directly contributing to income increases for small business owners, farmers, and fishers.
First, a ‘Domestic Boom-up Package’ to activate the tourism industry will be implemented. In cooperation with travel OTA companies, a ‘Namhye-style Accommodation Campaign’ will be launched, and local festivals and rural experience leisure villages will be actively utilized to expand stay-type tourism content.
Additionally, as part of the ‘Travel Gyeongnam for a Month’ project, the ‘Han-dareum Namhye’ program will be conducted to widely promote Namhye-gun’s excellent tourism resources and spread a stay-type travel atmosphere. Special efforts will be made to attract metropolitan city tours and group tourists.
Measures to revitalize local commercial districts for the mutual growth of local small business owners will also be actively pursued.
The purchase discount rate for the local currency ‘Namhye Hwajeon,’ which was initially planned to be adjusted to 7%, will continue to be maintained at the existing 10%, contributing to preventing the outflow of local funds and revitalizing the local commercial district.
Furthermore, to reduce the financial burden on small business owners, the loan interest period for small business promotion funds has been extended from the original 1 year to 2 years. A support project for improving the management environment of small business owners to strengthen their self-reliance is also underway.
Along with this, during the Korea Together Festival period in May, special sales of the Namhye currency ‘Hwajeon (花錢)’ and a special exhibition of Namhye specialty products called ‘Namhye Mall’ discount event will be held, aiming to lead the revitalization of the consumer market through various events such as issuing discount coupons.
In particular, to encourage tourists to visit continuously rather than just once, plans include improving facilities in traditional markets within the county, cleaning up the environment, and promoting a customer-friendly attitude through a hospitality campaign.
By designating ‘Good Price Businesses,’ voluntary participation in creating a price stabilization atmosphere will be encouraged.
A Namhye-gun official said, “The focus of this measure is to ensure that the activation of the tourism sector, which is a distinctive strength of Namhye-gun, leads to consumption promotion,” adding, “We will steadily and swiftly implement measures to attract tourists and promote consumption in line with the government and Gyeongnam Province’s domestic demand revitalization policies.”
As part of the domestic demand revitalization policy, Namhye-gun plans to encourage the use of public officials’ vacation and annual leave, promote flexible working hours, expand the opening of public facilities such as cultural and sports facilities, and accelerate fiscal spending.
