Daejeon and Chungnam 'Wildfire Damage Areas' Surveying Fee Reduction

Surveying fees for cadastral measurements in wildfire-affected areas of Daejeon and Chungnam will be reduced.

On the 13th, according to Daejeon City and Chungnam Province, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport recently accepted requests to reduce cadastral surveying fees in five cities and counties: Sanjik-dong area in Seo-gu, Daejeon, and Hongseong, Boryeong, Geumsan, Dangjin, and Buyeo in Chungnam.

The fee reduction for cadastral surveying applies only to surveys necessary for damage restoration in these areas, which were declared special disaster zones on the 5th. Applicants must submit a damage confirmation certificate issued by the relevant local government office when applying for cadastral surveying.

The reduction is applied differentially up to 100% depending on the damage situation. For example, if a house or other building is completely or partially destroyed, the full fee is waived; for other cases such as confirming boundaries or current status for wildfire damage restoration, a 50% reduction is applied.

The period during which the fee reduction can be applied is two years from the date of the special disaster zone declaration (April 5, 2023).

Son Hyeon-yeon, Director of the Land Information Division of Daejeon City, said, “We hope this fee reduction measure will reduce the economic burden on citizens whose homes were damaged by the wildfire and help facilitate swift recovery.”

Ko Jae-seong, Director of the Land Division of Chungnam Province, said, “In the case of boundary restoration surveys, fees can range from several hundred thousand to several million won. We hope this reduction measure will help residents affected by the large wildfire return to their daily lives quickly.”
