Hwasun-gun Opens 'Dolmen Site Prehistoric Experience Center' Utilizing World Heritage Site

Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 12th that it will operate the "2023 World Heritage Hwasun Dolmen Site Utilization Program" from April 8 to the end of December at the Dolmen Prehistoric Experience Center and Daesin-ri Cultural Experience Center, supported by the Cultural Heritage Administration.


The Hwasun Dolmen Prehistoric Experience Center is a place that recreates a Bronze Age village, allowing visitors to glimpse the lives of prehistoric people from 3,000 years ago.

Here, visitors can see various types of pit houses and tools, including slender rectangular, rectangular, square, and circular shapes.


Under the theme of "Dolmen Prehistoric Village Playground," the program offers experiences that connect the past, present, and future, allowing visitors to explore their lives. Participants can enjoy various programs such as excavation experiences as archaeologists and VR archery experiences that combine the past and present.


At the Daesin-ri Cultural Experience Center, programs are operated with the theme of carbon neutrality to promote environmental protection, including making eco-friendly dishwashing bars and operating the Dolmen Library.


Admission to the Hwasun Dolmen Site and Experience Centers is free, with some paid experiences available. The centers are closed only on holidays and during severe weather conditions and operate year-round.


The operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. On weekdays, some experiences require advance reservations, while on weekends, they are available on-site at all times.
