Hampyeong-gun Accepts Applications for Forestry and Forest Public Direct Payment System

Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 12th that it is accepting applications for the 2023 Forestry and Forest Public Direct Payment System (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Forestry Direct Payment System’).

The applicants are forestry workers and agricultural corporations who are actually engaged in forestry in forest areas where the registration of agricultural management entities for forest land (hereinafter referred to as ‘forestry management entities’) was completed between April 1, 2019, and September 30, 2022.

The application period is from April 17 to May 19, and applications can be submitted through the town and township offices located in the forest areas.

To receive the forestry direct payment, applicants must meet the relevant eligibility requirements such as the target forest area and the applicant, and comply with mandatory obligations including education.

Notably, changes this year include ▲ previous year recipients of the forestry direct payment must prove at least 90 days of engagement with a forestry work log ▲ for forest product production direct payments, proof of forest product sales of at least 1.2 million KRW annually is required ▲ for afforestation direct payments, only performance within the last 10 years prior to the application year is recognized.

The county plans to conduct compliance inspections in August and September, and based on the results, pay the forestry direct payments between November and December.

A county official said, “Since the application period for the forestry direct payment is earlier than last year, we hope that no applications will be missed by paying close attention to the application period.”

Meanwhile, on the 5th, the county held an education session on the Forestry and Forest Public Direct Payment System for forestry workers at the theme video hall of Hampyeong Expo Park.
