Prosecutors Conduct On-Site Inspection of Body Disposal in 'Gangnam Abduction and Murder' Case

The prosecution conducted an on-site inspection on the 12th at the location where the suspects in the 'Gangnam kidnapping and murder case' abandoned the body.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office's dedicated investigation team (led by Kim Soo-min, Head of Criminal Division 3) inspected the crime scene in a mountain area near Daecheong Dam in Daedeok-gu, Daejeon City, where the body was abandoned, verifying the specific methods of execution and the relationships among accomplices. It is reported that the dedicated investigation team leader Kim Soo-min, one prosecutor, and police officers participated in this inspection.

At the scene, Hwang Dae-han (36) and Yeon Ji-ho (30), who were involved in abandoning the body, reenacted the crime. Lee Kyung-woo (36), Hwang Dae-han, and Yeon Ji-ho were arrested on charges of kidnapping and murdering a woman in her 40s in front of an apartment in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on the 29th of last month, and abandoning the body in a mountain area near Daecheong Dam.

The police believe that Lee Kyung-woo proposed the crime against the victim, and that Hwang Dae-han and Yeon Ji-ho carried out the kidnapping, murder, and other offenses. Following the instructions of Prosecutor General Lee Won-seok, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office formed a dedicated investigation team, took over the case on the 9th, and is currently conducting the investigation.
