The Korea Forest Service's National Geommaksan Natural Recreation Forest will operate a shiitake mushroom experience program for customers using the recreation forest every Sunday at 10 a.m. from April 16 to May 7 to welcome the refreshing spring season.

원본보기 아이콘Shiitake mushrooms, which have a subtle fragrance and contain immune-boosting components, are known to be beneficial to the human body, as recorded in traditional texts such as the Donguibogam and Bencao Gangmu. They are also rich in antioxidants, making them excellent for skin beauty and anti-aging effects.
Participants in the event can experience drilling holes into prepared shiitake logs and directly inoculating them with spawn, observe and harvest the grown shiitake mushrooms, and after the experience, take home the shiitake logs they prepared and the mushrooms they harvested.
This event, which allows participants to see, touch, and harvest shiitake mushrooms?one of Korea's representative healthy forest products?not on the dining table but in nature, awakens the mysterious power of the forest and trees and simultaneously provides a rare forestry education opportunity that is hard to experience in daily life.
