Haenam-gun received high praise for its ‘One-Minute Call of Love Check-up’ project, which involved making weekly welfare calls to vulnerable groups and visiting households showing signs of risk to connect them with various welfare services for early prevention.
Additionally, during the severe cold wave and heating cost crisis in winter, the county actively utilized the local welfare task force to repair frozen pipes and improve living conditions for 85 households, and allocated its own budget to provide temporary heating cost support of 16 million won, implementing a thorough protection policy for vulnerable groups.
County Governor Myeong Hyeon-gwan said, “The achievement of discovering and supporting crisis households through public-private cooperation has led to the commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare,” and added, “We will continue to make our best efforts to quickly identify welfare blind spots through a more detailed safety net and support them with various projects.”
