The Special Committee on Local Extinction Countermeasures of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Council (Chairman Kim Chang-gi) conducted a two-day field inspection from the 11th to the 12th, visiting Yesan Market in Chungnam, which has recently gained attention as a model for population inflow and regional economic revitalization, as well as the New Vitality Creative Center (CEO Baek Jong-won, The Born Food Service Industry Development Institute) located in Yesan County.

Through this on-site inspection of Yesan Market, they checked the progress of the 'Yesan Market Open Space Creation Project,' which can be a good solution not only for revitalizing traditional markets but also for population inflow and solving youth entrepreneurship and job issues, along with the surrounding facilities.

They also visited the New Vitality Creative Center, a facility that provides education and consulting to young people aspiring to start food service businesses and local merchants, to hear about the operation status and challenges of the youth food service startup support project.

Kim Chang-gi, Chairman of the Special Committee on Local Extinction Countermeasures (Mungyeong), stated, “To solve the problem of local extinction, it is necessary to actively create jobs for young people and develop cities that people want to visit by leveraging the unique characteristics of local areas.” He added, “Like the case of Yesan Market, youth entrepreneurship utilizing local traditional markets should lead to job creation in the region, increasing the number of visitors and becoming a new model for population inflow. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a foundation and develop and support policies.”
