Ulju-gun Prevents Solitary Deaths by Delivering Health Drinks

Ulju-gun, Ulsan City, recently launched the "Health Beverage Delivery Support Project" targeting low-income vulnerable care groups to prevent the socially increasing issue of solitary deaths.

This project aims to promote health improvement by providing health beverages to vulnerable groups and to prevent solitary deaths by checking on their well-being.

Previously implemented in some towns and townships of Ulju-gun, the project will now be expanded to all towns and townships.

In each town and township, beverage companies contracted or members of the local community security council will visit vulnerable households regularly two to three times a week or more to deliver health beverages and check on the recipients' well-being.

If any abnormal signs are detected, they will contact related agencies such as the town or township administrative welfare center to respond to the crisis. The project funds are provided through donations to the Ulju-gun Angel Account.

An Ulju-gun official stated, "Tragic incidents such as solitary deaths caused by demographic and social structural changes are not individual problems but social issues best resolved together with the local community," adding, "We will continue to promote projects to protect marginalized groups in the region in cooperation with local related agencies."
