Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) announced on the 12th that it will install 'station name guide signs' on the platform screen doors at metropolitan subway stations to allow passengers to check the current station where the train is stopped.

Reflecting feedback that passengers seated or near the train doors could not immediately confirm the station, the signs were attached to the platform screen doors so that the station name can be seen from both sides of the train doors. They have been installed at about 200 metropolitan subway stations so far, with plans to install them at all stations by the end of this year.
Meanwhile, KORAIL operates a 'safety bar that opens easily when pressed' installed between the train doors and the platform screen doors to allow emergency escape and prevent passengers from being trapped in unusual situations.
