Jong-sik Lim, Superintendent of Gyeongbuk Office of Education, signed a business agreement with the Northeast Asian History Foundation (Chairman Young-ho Lee) on the 12th to promote Dokdo education.
This agreement was prepared for the Gyeongbuk Office of Education and the Northeast Asian History Foundation to establish a correct territorial and historical perspective through Dokdo education and to cultivate a future-oriented global citizenship consciousness that contributes to peace in Northeast Asia.
The contents of the agreement include the use of Dokdo education content, fostering and activating Dokdo clubs in elementary and secondary schools, supporting content when establishing a Dokdo Education Center, mutual use and exchange of Dokdo education-related content, and other cooperation and exchange utilizing human and material resources of both organizations.
The Gyeongbuk Office of Education has opened the nation’s first online Dokdo education platform, ‘Cyber Dokdo School,’ and is actively conducting Dokdo education. In the future, it plans to build a Dokdo Education Center at the former Jangheung Branch School in Ulleungdo to support Dokdo exploration for students and teachers.
Superintendent Lim Jong-sik expressed his thoughts on the agreement, saying, “Through this business agreement with the Northeast Asian History Foundation, I hope that both organizations will exchange excellent Dokdo education content and establish a continuous cooperation system, serving as an opportunity to further activate Dokdo education.”
