Q1 Alcohol Sales Increase by 87%

Lotte Duty Free announced on the 12th that it will exclusively sell the ‘Glenfiddich Grand Yozakura 29 Years’ at domestic duty-free shops.

The Glenfiddich Grand Yozakura is the first limited edition product of the Grand series for this spring season, released after aging for 29 years at the globally renowned Glenfiddich distillery. This product is the world’s first Scotch whisky matured in Awamori casks from Okinawa, Japan, making it an extremely rare single malt whisky worldwide.

Yozakura means the beautiful sight of cherry blossoms in full bloom under the moonlight, and true to its meaning, it features a flavor characterized by well-ripened fruits and unique herbal aromas. It was stocked at Lotte Duty Free Incheon Airport branch on the 7th and is being sold on a first-come, first-served basis. According to Lotte Duty Free, liquor product sales in the first quarter of this year increased by about 87% compared to the same period last year, and single malt sales more than tripled.

A Lotte Duty Free official said, “Since duty-free shops have a strong price competitiveness compared to local markets for liquor products, the number of customers seeking liquor products is steadily increasing,” adding, “Based on stable product sourcing capabilities, we will introduce various liquor products, including single malt whiskies that have high global demand, to our customers.”
