The Daejeon Talent Development Scholarship Foundation announced on the 12th that it will select 452 outstanding local talents in the first half of the year and provide a total of 348 million KRW in scholarships.
The selected recipients include ▲ 84 Talent Scholars ▲ 338 Hope Scholars ▲ 30 Foreign Student Scholars, totaling 452 individuals.
By grade level, the recipients are divided into ▲ 5 elementary school students ▲ 147 middle school students ▲ 195 high school students ▲ 75 university students ▲ 30 foreign students.
The maximum scholarship amounts by grade are ▲ 300,000 KRW for elementary students ▲ 500,000 KRW for middle school students ▲ 700,000 KRW for high school students ▲ 800,000 KRW for foreign students ▲ 1,500,000 KRW for university students.
Talent Scholars are selected from students attending schools in Daejeon who have placed third or higher in international or national competitions in fields such as humanities, social sciences, science, and arts within the past year, including elementary, middle, high school, and university students.
Hope Scholars are selected from applicants who are recipients of the National Basic Livelihood Security Act benefits or belong to low-income households, based on family circumstances and academic performance.
Foreign Student Scholars are foreign students enrolled at universities in Daejeon who have earned a B0 grade or higher in the previous semester and have received a recommendation from the university president. The foundation plans to evaluate applicants’ grades, recommendation letters, and Korean language proficiency to select the final recipients.
Applications can be submitted on the Daejeon Talent Development Scholarship Foundation website until the 10th of next month. Relevant supporting documents must be mailed to the scholarship foundation by the deadline (May 10th, 6 PM).
The foundation plans to select recipients and notify schools by early July and publish the results on its website. Scholarships will be disbursed at the end of July.

Meanwhile, the foundation is operated with funds donated by Daejeon City and other contributions. Last year, it selected 1,191 scholars and provided a total of 933.2 million KRW in scholarships.
