The three major indices of the U.S. New York Stock Exchange closed mixed and near flat on the 11th (local time). Investors appeared to be awaiting this week's scheduled announcements, including inflation indicators such as the Consumer Price Index (CPI), which could impact the Federal Reserve's (Fed) interest rate decisions, as well as earnings reports primarily from major banks.
On this day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.29% from the previous session to close. The S&P 500, centered on large-cap stocks, declined slightly. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite closed down 0.43%.
