Coway 'Birex Mattress 4 Types' Obtains Environmental Label Certification

Coway (CEO Seo Jang-won) announced on the 11th that it has obtained environmental label certification for four types of Birex mattresses. The certified products are three types of Birex Topper Replacement Mattress Prime Plus 2 (CMK-S05, CMQ-S05, CMSS-S05) and the Birex Slim Topper Replacement Mattress Prime (CMS-S03_V2).

The environmental label certification system is a program that provides consumers with information about eco-friendly products by displaying the 'Environmental Label Logo' on products that reduce pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions throughout the entire process of manufacturing, consuming, and disposing of materials and products. It has been implemented by the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute under the Ministry of Environment since 1992.

These products received environmental label certification by being recognized for eco-friendliness in reducing harmful substances and decreasing environmental pollution in daily life. It is explained that eco-friendliness was enhanced by applying Rejen (recycled polyester) yarn, produced by recycling waste PET bottles into raw material form, to the mattress fabric.

A Coway representative said, "We are striving to minimize the environmental impact generated during the production and use of our products," adding, "Going forward, Coway will continue to be a company that satisfies consumers, businesses, and the environment through various eco-friendly activities."
