On the 11th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the launch ceremony of the ‘Changwon Cultural Complex Town Trustee Selection Committee’ to select a new operator for the Changwon Cultural Complex Town and officially began its activities.
The Changwon Cultural Complex Town Trustee Selection Committee is composed of a total of nine external members, including seven private members such as Chairman Lee Chang-ho, professors, lawyers, architects, and experts in culture, arts, and management, as well as two city council members.
The committee will carry out tasks such as ▲developing the public recruitment guidelines ▲overall management of the selection evaluation to select a new operator through a fair process, and will be responsible for deliberation and resolution regarding the overall selection of the Changwon Cultural Complex Town operator.
Additionally, to strengthen expertise, the committee plans to separately form and operate a ‘Selection Evaluation Subcommittee’ consisting of about 15 experts to be in charge of the operator selection evaluation.
After the launch ceremony, the committee members visited the Changwon Cultural Complex Town, toured each floor, and had time to exchange various opinions on future operational directions.
The city is carefully considering ways to utilize the Changwon Cultural Complex Town, and the committee’s core role is to select an operator who can effectively utilize the building and provide citizens with various cultural enjoyment benefits.
Ha Jong-mok, the first deputy mayor, said, “As citizens have high expectations for the opening of the Changwon Cultural Complex Town, I ask the committee, composed of experts, to fulfill their responsibilities and roles so that it can establish itself as a representative cultural facility of the region.”
The city plans to complete the selection of the Changwon Cultural Complex Town operator within this year and begin normal operations from early next year.
