The government announced that it will promptly deploy available resources in response to the wildfire in Gangneung City.

원본보기 아이콘On the 11th, Kim Seong-ho, Director of the Disaster and Safety Management Headquarters at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, urgently instructed, "The Korea Forest Service, the National Fire Agency, and local governments will swiftly deploy maximum available resources to minimize damage" regarding the wildfire in Gangneung City. The wildfire, which started around 08:30 in Nangok-dong, Gangneung City, Gangwon Province, is spreading due to strong winds.
Director Kim stated, "We will thoroughly establish firebreaks to prevent damage to residential areas and ensure that residents in areas at risk of spread evacuate in advance," and asked, "Residents in the wildfire-affected areas are requested to pay close attention to related information such as disaster alerts and evacuate promptly if necessary."
The wildfire response is currently at Level 2 fire response as of 09:18 and Level 1 wildfire response as of 09:30.
