Gyeongbuk Superintendent of Education Lim Jong-sik Announces Formation of TF Team for ChatGPT Use in Schools

The Gyeongbuk Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jong-sik) is forming and operating the ‘Gyeongbuk ChatGPT Activation TF Team’ to find ways to utilize ChatGPT in schools by the end of May.

The provincial education office announced on the 11th that it has organized and is operating the activation TF team to explore educational uses of ChatGPT, reflecting the demands from schools regarding the globally spotlighted use of ChatGPT.

The TF team is analyzing recent trends and domestic and international use cases of ChatGPT, and is discovering work improvement cases and classroom teaching applications that can be applied in school settings.

A meeting is being held to discuss the formation of a TF team for the activation of ChatGPT at the Gyeongbuk Office of Education.

Based on this, a ‘ChatGPT Utilization Guidebook for Teachers’ will be developed and distributed to schools in June.

At the 2nd TF team meeting held on the 10th at Kumoh National Institute of Technology in Gumi, a lecture by related expert Professor Jung Yoo-chul was given, and ways to utilize ChatGPT educationally were explored together. At this meeting, consensus was reached to develop and distribute a Gyeongbuk-type ChatGPT utilization model and educational materials that teachers can immediately use for their work and classes.

Superintendent Lim Jong-sik of the Gyeongbuk Office of Education said, “Generative AI technologies including ChatGPT are changing rapidly every day,” and added, “We will spare no support to discover work innovation and class improvement cases applicable to schools using these technologies, enabling teachers to get closer to students and increasing educational satisfaction for students and parents, creating a ‘Warm Gyeongbuk AI.’”
