40-Year-Old Man Arrested for Threatening Security Guard with Weapon to Steal Gold Ring

A man in his 40s who threatened an apartment security guard with a weapon and snatched a gold ring was arrested by the police.

On the 11th, the Dongjak Police Station in Seoul announced that they have apprehended and are investigating Mr. A (45, male) on charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon and trespassing.

Mr. A is accused of entering the security office of an apartment in Sadang-dong, Dongjak-gu, around 10 p.m. the previous day while intoxicated, threatening the security guard on duty with a weapon, and snatching an 18K gold ring. It was reported that the victim did not suffer any physical harm.

Immediately after the crime, Mr. A was found wandering inside a villa in Gwanak-gu around 1:15 a.m. that day and was arrested by officers from the Gwanak Police Station who responded to a trespassing report.

After his arrest, Mr. A was confirmed to be the suspect in the robbery case and was transferred to the Dongjak Police Station.

A police official stated, "Mr. A is currently in custody in a detention center in an intoxicated state," and added, "We plan to conduct a swift investigation."
