Samsung Display will supply cutting-edge OLEDs to the supercar Ferrari.
Samsung Display announced that on the 11th, it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ferrari at its Asan campus to develop display solutions to be installed in Ferrari's next-generation car models. The signing ceremony was attended by Samsung Display President Choi Ju-seon and Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna.
Under this MOU, Samsung Display will develop luxurious yet innovative automotive display solutions befitting the luxury supercar brand, based on its world-class OLED technology, and support Ferrari's accelerating digital transformation.
Over the past decade, Samsung Display has led the technological transition in the premium smartphone market from LCD to OLED, and is actively targeting the automotive display market based on its uniquely accumulated OLED expertise. Notably, it unveiled the 'New Digital Cockpit' for the first time at CES 2023. The 34-inch display equipped in the 'New Digital Cockpit' features bendable technology with a 700R curvature on both sides, providing the driver with an optimal viewing distance and enhancing concentration.

원본보기 아이콘Samsung OLED is praised for its lightweight and slim structure, thin bezels that allow excellent design flexibility, and the ability to deliver perfect blacks and deep contrast, meeting the needs of automakers seeking innovative and luxurious designs. In particular, the low power consumption characteristic of OLED increases automotive efficiency.
Choi Ju-seon, President of Samsung Display, stated, "Based on our long-accumulated OLED technology, we will present cutting-edge display solutions worthy of Ferrari." He added, "We plan to strengthen our automotive OLED business by collaborating with leading global automakers, including Ferrari." Benedetto Vigna, Ferrari CEO, commented on the agreement, saying, "Ferrari is a luxury company that provides a special experience, not just a means of transportation. Through strategic cooperation with Samsung Display, which produces the best OLEDs, we expect to maximize the value and completeness of Ferrari's next-generation products."
