Busan City will hold various online and offline events, including a fan meeting, to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the debut of the city’s communication character, ‘Bugie.’


This event is an opportunity to express gratitude to the fans, called ‘Buseureogi,’ who have shown great love for Bugie over the past two years.

Various programs have been prepared to reward fans who support Bugie’s role as the promotional mascot for the 2030 Busan World Expo bid and who promote Bugie’s activities both online and offline.


First, on the 16th at 2 p.m., a fan meeting called ‘Buseureok Day’ will be held at the Haeundae Atelier (former Haeundae Station) plaza.


The fan meeting will proceed in the following order: ▲opening performance ▲talk concert and audience events ▲self-celebration performance ▲commemorative photos ▲fan signing session.


The opening performance will start the fan meeting with Bugie’s song, and during the talk concert and audience events, Bugie and fans will ask and answer questions they are curious about. There will also be a fun competition between fans and Bugie to win fan meeting limited-edition goods, continuing the enjoyable atmosphere.


Following this, a K-pop dance performance featuring Bugie and the local famous dance team ‘Nataraja Crew’ will be held as a self-celebration performance. Finally, the event will conclude with commemorative photos and a fan signing session, creating lasting memories with the fans who joined.


Due to time constraints, the fan signing session will be conducted by drawing 50 people on-site, and all fan meeting participants will receive a ticket certifying their participation and a limited-edition photo card.


Additionally, to promote the fan meeting, the city plans to borrow the concept of the popular past TV program ‘Guerrilla Concert’ and have Bugie ride a truck around Gumnam-ro and the Haeundae area from noon before the fan meeting, directly encouraging citizens and tourists to participate.


Moreover, a pop-up store selling and exhibiting Bugie goods will be set up at the Haeundae Atelier where the fan meeting is held, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the same day.


The pop-up store is expected to be very popular among citizens, offering postcards and T-shirts available only at the Bugie 2nd anniversary fan meeting, as well as Bugie dolls, stationery, mugs, and other popular items.


To mark Bugie’s 2nd anniversary, the city will pilot operate a dedicated YouTube channel tentatively named ‘BugieTube,’ requested by Bugie fans, starting from Bugie’s debut anniversary on April 16. The official launch is scheduled for June 4.


This channel will feature content such as Bugie’s Busan job experience, vlogs, activity videos, and K-POP dance challenges. Especially at the fan meeting, opinions will be gathered on ▲channel name suggestions and ▲content fans want Bugie to create.


For Bugie fans who cannot attend in person, an event has also been prepared. Starting at 6 p.m. on the 17th, an online event will distribute a smartphone keyboard theme called ‘Bugie’s Daily Life’ using Bugie emoticons for free through the ‘Play Keyboard’ app.

Play Keyboard is a smartphone keyboard application released by ‘Bitbyte,’ a global app with 160 million monthly launches and 2.4 million cumulative downloads.


Anyone can download the ‘Bugie’s Daily Life’ keyboard theme by installing the ‘Play Keyboard’ app from the Android Play Store or iPhone App Store and visiting the ‘Bugie YouTube Channel’ through the app.


The theme will be distributed free of charge to the first 12,000 users on a first-come, first-served basis. Reflecting citizens’ feedback that the previously distributed Bugie KakaoTalk emoticons had usage time limits, this keyboard theme can be used unlimitedly without any time restrictions.


Even if you miss this free keyboard theme distribution event, you can purchase Bugie keyboard themes. Although not the same theme as ‘Bugie’s Daily Life,’ ‘Bugie’s Spring Picnic,’ sold by ‘Contents Core,’ the Bugie character design company and copyright holder, is available for purchase on ‘Play Keyboard.’


City spokesperson Na Yoonbin said, “We have prepared various online and offline events for the fans who have loved Bugie over the past two years. We ask for the citizens’ continued love and interest in ‘Bugie,’ who will carry out even more diverse activities based on this fan meeting and the launch of the YouTube channel.”
