Daejeon City announced on the 11th that it is publicly recruiting small business owners to participate in the wage support program for small business owners.
The support target includes small business owners with annual sales of 300 million KRW or less who have newly hired workers aged 18 or older since January 1st, and when the hired workers have actually worked more than 120 hours per month and have maintained enrollment in the four major social insurances.
Wage support can be applied for after hiring a new worker, applying to participate in the program, and maintaining employment for more than three months from the date of employment. After applying, the business owner will receive a lump sum payment of 1.5 million KRW, paid as 500,000 KRW per month.
From this year, the city plans to additionally provide an employment retention incentive of 500,000 KRW to business owners who maintain employment for more than six months to strengthen employment stability for workers.
Applications can be submitted via fax or email after checking the announcement for the ‘2023 Wage Support Program for Small Business Owners’ on the city’s Small and Medium Enterprise Support Portal, DaejeonBiz.
Applications have been accepted since the 3rd, and the program may close early once the budget is exhausted.
Han Jongtak, head of the Small Business Policy Division of the city, said, “We hope this program will provide some help to local small business owners struggling due to the economic downturn and contribute to resolving employment instability.”
