GS Retail Provides CPR Training for Employees... Building a Safety Platform

Annual Plan to Educate Over 2,000 People

GS Retail announced on the 11th that it will conduct cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training for its employees to prepare for emergency situations.

GS Retail is resuming face-to-face CPR training, which was suspended due to COVID-19, starting this month at its headquarters and expanding it to offices and logistics centers nationwide. The training will be extended to employees of convenience stores, the Super Division, Home Shopping BU, and logistics centers, with plans to train approximately 2,000 employees by the end of the year.

Through collaboration with the Korean Red Cross, local government health centers, fire stations, and private organizations (Korea Life Saving Association) emergency instructors, the company expects the in-depth training to provide practical assistance. Certificates of completion will be awarded to those who finish the training.

In January, 17 units were installed at GS25 stores in Busan, and in March, 50 units were installed at GS25 stores in Seoul. The company is preparing to sign agreements for additional installations in Paju, Gimhae, and Gwangju.

A GS Retail official stated, “There have been several cases where employees saved precious lives through CPR at GS25 and GS The Fresh stores,” adding, “We will continue to conduct various safety trainings to establish ourselves as a leading safety platform in South Korea.”
