Gyeongsang National University to Host 'KBS Open Concert' on the 18th

113th Anniversary of University Founding, Adding Meaning to University Integration

Gyeongsang National University will hold the ‘KBS Open Concert’ under the theme of ‘Regional Coexistence, University Integration, 113th Anniversary of Founding’ at 7:30 PM on the 18th at the Gajwa Campus Grand Stadium.


The External Cooperation Office of Gyeongsang National University decided that by hosting the KBS Open Concert, it will enhance the recognition of the integrated university, contributing to attracting outstanding students and increasing the employment rate of graduates.


Additionally, the Open Concert will be jointly hosted with local governments, regional companies, and alumni associations to lead regional harmony and coexistence, providing local residents with the opportunity to enjoy a high-quality music concert.

The KBS Open Concert is a representative program that has led music shows in South Korea since 1993, featuring singers from various genres and a program that all generations can enjoy together.


Hosted by Gyeongsang National University and organized by KBS, the invitation tickets for this Open Concert will be distributed free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 10 AM on the 11th at the Dong Administrative Welfare Center and Eup/Myeon offices in Jinju city.


Audience members will be admitted between 6 and 7 PM. The recorded Open Concert will be broadcast on KBS 1TV for 80 minutes starting at 5:40 PM on the 30th, the 113th anniversary of Gyeongsang National University’s founding.


The performers for the Open Concert include Crying Nut, STAYC, Kim Hyun-chul, Nam Sang-il, Oh Yoo-jin, Park Gun, Ulala Session, and Shin Hyun-hee. The lineup was composed of singers who can be enjoyed together by university members and local residents of different generations and musical tastes.


A university official stated, “The help of local governments, regional companies, and alumni was very important in hosting the Open Concert.”


President Kwon Soon-gi said, “Our university, founded in April 1910 under King Gojong’s Industrial School Ordinance in the late 19th century, has reached its 113th anniversary. The pioneering history of Gyeongnam Science and Technology University, which started as Jinju Public Industrial School and integrated with Gyeongsang University in March 2021 to grow into ‘Gyeongsang National University,’ is the history and pride of Jinju, the ‘City of Education.’”
