Among the total 1,633 city buses subject to the upgrade, 5G service was first provided to about 17% of them, 270 buses, last year, and this year the remaining 83%, 1,363 buses, will be upgraded to complete the project.
The equipment replacement work will be carried out during nighttime hours to avoid inconvenience to residents using the city buses.
To use the city bus public Wi-Fi, simply select ‘Public WiFi Free’ or ‘Public WiFi Secure’ from the Wi-Fi list on your mobile phone.
No Chi-hong, the Information and Communications Officer, said, “Residents will be able to use more convenient and stable high-speed Wi-Fi services,” adding, “To ensure universal data access in the era of ultra-high-speed internet, we will expand the installation of public Wi-Fi not only on city buses but also in public places.”
