Two suspects arrested and sent to prosecution for breaking into a gold shop and stealing 150 don of gold

Two suspects who broke into a jewelry store in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, and stole approximately 150 don of gold have been handed over to the prosecution.


On the 10th, the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul announced that they had sent 40-year-old male Lee and 60-year-old male Hwang to the prosecution under special theft charges on the 5th.

Lee is accused of breaking into the jewelry store on the 29th of last month while wearing a helmet and smashing the door with a hammer to steal about 150 don of gold. Hwang is accused of conspiring with Lee in the crime and acting as a lookout during the incident.


After the crime, the two fled, but the police analyzed CCTV footage and identified their identities, arresting both suspects. Lee was arrested around 10:40 p.m. on the day of the crime in the Gyeyang-dong area of Gyeyang-gu, Incheon, while Hwang was arrested around 8:20 p.m. on the 30th of last month in the Geumo-dong area of Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province.


Lee and Hwang were respectively detained on the 31st of last month and the 2nd of this month.
