Gwangju Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation (President Jo Ik-moon) announced on the 10th that it recently conducted expert-invited training to prepare for workplace risk assessments aimed at preventing serious accidents.
For this lecture, Nam-gyu Park, Chairman of the Gwangju City Industrial Safety and Health Committee, was specially invited. Executives including President Jo Ik-moon, department heads, team leaders, and on-site supervisors attended and received specialized education on understanding the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, on-site work processes, risk reduction measures, and safety work rules.
The Serious Accidents Punishment Act is a law that strengthens safety and health obligations by punishing business operators, management officials, and corporations when serious accidents occur due to violations of safety measures.
Earlier this year, the corporation established a dedicated department for serious accidents and has been making company-wide efforts to prevent serious accidents by strengthening safety measures in various fields at each site, including the Yongsan Vehicle Depot heavy maintenance workshop.
President Jo Ik-moon stated, “This training has deepened the consensus on the obligation to secure safety and health to prevent serious accidents,” adding, “We will be more thorough in safety management to prioritize the protection of the lives and safety of citizens and workers.”
