Gwangyang City announced that on the 6th, it held a meeting with representatives of companies from the Gwangyang Steelworks Partners Association to listen to difficulties and suggestions related to business management.
At the meeting, attended by Jeong In-hwa, Mayor of Gwangyang, Lee Kwang-yong, Chairman of the Gwangyang Steelworks Partners Association (CEO of Unitec), company CEOs, and executives totaling 15 people, this year's corporate support policies were introduced and time was spent listening to business management difficulties.
Additionally, cooperation was requested to revitalize the local economy through prioritizing the hiring of Gwangyang citizens and encouraging consumption within the region.
Lee Kwang-yong, Chairman of the Gwangyang Steelworks Partners Association, stated, “Due to the sluggish domestic and international economy, including the steel industry, we are experiencing difficulties in business operations,” and suggested, “I hope that meetings between the city and businesspeople will be held frequently in the future to create opportunities to explore development plans through communication.”
Jeong Yong-gyun, Director of the Regional Economy Division, said, “We will continue to hold meetings with companies located in industrial complexes to listen to their difficulties and suggestions and resolve them promptly,” adding, “The city will also do its best to create a business-friendly city, Gwangyang, by discovering various corporate support policies.”
Jeong In-hwa, Mayor of Gwangyang, expressed, “I sincerely thank the company representatives who are dedicated to business activities despite the difficult economic conditions,” and stated, “We will spare no administrative support to strengthen the competitiveness of local resident companies and strive to help companies overcome difficulties, especially in the steel industry.”
Meanwhile, last year, Gwangyang City held meetings with the Shingeum Industrial Complex Council and the Iksin Chonam Industrial Complex Council. Starting with the Gwangyang Steelworks Partners Association this time, it plans to hold touring meetings with companies located in five industrial complexes to promptly resolve business difficulties.
