Successful Hosting of the Gurye 'Sandong Camping Festival'

Promoting Local Economic Revitalization through Attracting Long-Stay Tourists

Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that from April 6 to 9, it held the "Gurye Sandong Camping Festival" under the theme "Spring Has Come, Let's Gather in Gurye" around the Sandong Sansuyu Festival site for four days.

This event was planned to attract stay-type tourists in the second year of the '2022~2023 Jeollanam-do Year of Visit.'

250 teams of members from 'Dalguji Camping,' a camping community with 190,000 members, participated from all over the country.

The county prepared various booths and events to promote the Jeollanam-do Year of Visit and revitalize the local economy of Gurye-gun, including the Jeonnam Sarangae (Love) Supporters, Hometown Love Donation System, Jeonnam rice consumption promotion booths, a direct transaction market for local agricultural products, food booths, and special discount events to support Korean beef farms.

Additionally, for child participants, the event held the 'Gurye & National Park Quiz,' giving away National Park goods such as half-moon bear keyrings and oriental turtle dove eco-bags. The festival also heated up with busking performances, prize events, and Gurye agricultural product package events that the whole family could enjoy together.

A tourist who participated in the event said, "It was really enjoyable to camp with my family in Gurye, where the air is fresh and beautiful," and added, "I will actively recommend Gurye as a great camping spot to other campers around."

Kim Soon-ho, the county governor, said, "Gurye, with its beautiful natural environment, has many places where children can run and play, making it an ideal place for family stay-type tourism," and added, "In the second year of the Jeollanam-do Year of Visit, we will plan various events to further promote Gurye's tourism resources and contribute to revitalizing the local economy."
