The hospital explained that this training is the first step toward establishing a standardized education program.
About 150 doctors attended the first training session. The program covered various topics including management methods for rehabilitation, medication, and mental illnesses from a geriatric medicine perspective, as well as comprehensive geriatric assessment, team formation, and visit preparation for home medical care. A session was also held to share experiences from medical institutions currently implementing home medical care, which received positive responses from participants representing institutions interested in adopting home medical care.
Kim Tae-woo, Director of the Public Health Department, stated, "Bundang Seoul National University Hospital has long been committed to ensuring that patients with mobility difficulties can fully benefit from medical services, carrying out activities such as the Regional Disability Health Care Center." He added, "We will continue to strengthen efforts for active education and institutionalization of home medical care to lead the widespread activation of home medical care."
The hospital plans to conduct the second and third phases of training on the 13th and 20th, targeting nurses and social workers, respectively. The second training for nurses will consist of courses such as ▲Understanding Home Nursing (Visiting Nursing) ▲Visit Preparation ▲Nursing Management Methods ▲Practical Training, while the third training for social workers will cover ▲Understanding Home Medical Care Recipients ▲Social Welfare Policies ▲Welfare Resources ▲Communication Methods.
