Tmon announced on the 10th that overseas direct purchase transaction volume in March this year increased by 55.9% compared to September last year, before the acquisition of Qoo10. Transactions in home appliances and digital products rose by 143%, while food and health supplements increased by 48%.
The increase in direct purchases of digital devices was driven by male consumers. Within six months, the scale of home appliances and digital direct purchases by male customers tripled, and their overseas direct purchase transaction volume increased by 98%. As a result, the proportion of direct purchase transactions by male customers surpassed that of female customers, reaching about 60%.
The reasons why digital device direct purchases are popular on Tmon include price competitiveness and fast, secure delivery. Since Qoo10’s overseas sellers register products directly, there is no middle distribution stage, making prices cheaper compared to existing direct purchase products. Additionally, based on Qxpress’s global logistics network spanning 19 hubs in 11 countries, delivery times have been shortened by more than 3 days.
Planned products directly linked to overseas production sites are also popular. A representative example is the 'Tmeong Pad,' which Tmon planned, ordered directly from overseas producers, and collaborated with Qxpress to shorten distribution stages, reducing prices by more than 20%. This product sold over 70% of its initial stock on the first day of launch.
Kwon Do-wan, Head of Tmon’s Operations Division, said, "We are pursuing ways to maximize the potential of a borderless commerce network across various categories, including products directly linked to production sites. Based on Qoo10’s global commerce competitiveness, we plan to continuously introduce products that satisfy customers in both price and quality."
