LH Announces Contest for SMEs Holding New Technologies

Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced on the 10th that it will hold the "2023 1st LH Certified New Technology Contest" on the 13th.

The LH Certified New Technology Contest has been held annually since 2014 to discover excellent new technologies from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and apply them to LH construction sites to support initial market entry. So far, a total of 244 new technologies have been selected, and new technologies (materials) worth approximately 130.6 billion KRW have been utilized at LH construction sites.

This year, in addition to the five construction categories of civil engineering, architecture, machinery, electrical/telecommunications, and landscaping, the contest will also be held in specialized ESG-related new technology fields such as zero-energy housing and inter-floor noise reduction, which have recently attracted significant social interest.

The contest is open to SMEs that possess government-certified new technologies or domestic patents for new technologies and new materials, and the technologies (materials) must not have been previously applied at LH.

Applications can be submitted from the 17th to the 28th on the SOC Technology Market website, and the results of the evaluation are expected to be announced in mid-June.

The submitted new technologies (materials) will be comprehensively reviewed by the New Technology Review Committee for feasibility of on-site application and economic efficiency to decide whether they will be adopted. Adopted new technologies (materials) will be applied (purchased) at LH sites.

Furthermore, if designated as innovative products (FT3) through the SOC Technology Market Joint Verification Review Committee and the Procurement Policy Review Committee, they can be applied not only at LH construction sites but also at SOC public institution sites, helping to secure initial market channels.

Jung Woon-seop, Head of LH Construction Safety Technology Headquarters, said, "In a situation where social interest and demand for new technologies such as inter-floor noise improvement are increasing, we expect to actively discover related technologies to enhance the quality of LH housing and support SMEs in securing initial market channels."
