Is Your Child Addicted to Smartphones?… Ulsan City Provides Puppet Show Education to Prevent Overdependence

120 Daycare Centers Serving Over 3,800 Young Children

Is My Child Also Addicted to Smartphones?

The Ulsan City government is running an educational program using puppet shows for young children to prevent excessive smartphone dependence.

Ulsan City announced that from the 10th of this month until November 23rd, it will conduct puppet show education on preventing smartphone overdependence for 120 daycare centers.

The education program was prepared to address the continuous increase in smartphone overdependence rates among infants and young children and to prevent early-age overdependence. The program is conducted through direct visits to daycare centers.

This education, featuring animal characters familiar to young children and comedic elements, includes content such as △ understanding smartphone use △ recognizing physical and emotional changes caused by smartphone use △ exercises for proper usage, making it more engaging.

Additionally, for daycare centers requesting parent education, simultaneous sessions are provided to guide parenting for proper smartphone use by young children and to promote healthy media usage methods within the home.

An official from Ulsan City stated, “Through customized puppet show education tailored to the perspective of infants and young children, we aim to provide opportunities to form correct smartphone usage habits.”

The Ulsan Smart Rest Center operates ongoing internet and smartphone overdependence prevention education and counseling programs for all age groups, including infants, adolescents, and adults.
