Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province will invest 110 million KRW this year to carry out the "Apartment Security and Cleaning Workers' Rest Facility Improvement Project."

On the 10th, Seongnam City announced that it will subsidize up to 5 million KRW per rest facility within complexes to guarantee the rest rights of apartment security and cleaning workers who are in poor working conditions and to provide a pleasant working environment.

The subsidy support areas include ▲ establishment of new rest facilities ▲ renovation of existing rest facility structures, ventilation, shower facilities, wallpaper, flooring, etc. ▲ replacement or new purchase costs of equipment such as air conditioners, sofas, beds, and water purifiers.

The complexes will bear 10% of the total cost.

The eligible complexes are multi-family housing with 20 or more households constructed under the Housing Act and the Urban and Residential Environment Improvement Act, and multi-family housing with 150 or more households approved under the Building Act.

Complexes wishing to apply can submit an application form by the 28th through the apartment residents' representatives or their agents.

The city will select the supported apartment complexes next month after on-site inspections and deliberations by the review committee.

Last year, the city also supported the improvement of 26 rest facilities for security and cleaning workers in 19 complexes through this project with a budget of 100 million KRW.
