Busan Haeundae Office of Education operates the ‘Haedajeong Dream Growth Project,’ where students can directly experience and learn from artisans while contemplating their career paths.
Haeundae Office of Education announced that from the 3rd to November 8th, the ‘project’ will be conducted for a total of about 440 students across 20 classes, ranging from 4th-grade elementary to 1st-grade middle school students in the region.
First launched in 2021, this project is part of the ‘Haeundae-gu Hope Education District’ initiative and is a student career education program conducted with top artisans selected by Busan City. The project was established to provide students with opportunities to explore career paths.
The project is carried out in three areas: baking and pastry, traditional design, and cooking. Kim Munkuk, CEO of Familia Bakery, participates in the baking and pastry area; Lee Deoksun, CEO of the Korean Costume Research Institute, in the traditional design area; and Lee Kyunghui, CEO of Lee Kyunghui Sonmat, in the cooking area.
Participating students will attend classes during school hours for baking and pastry and traditional design, while cooking classes and practical training will take place at a cooking academy equipped with facilities.
The artisans participating in this project expressed enthusiasm, saying, “We feel proud to contribute even a little to student career education and will do our best to prepare for the lectures.”
Kim Jonghee, Superintendent of Haeundae Office of Education, said, “We thank the artisans who participated in the project for student career education,” and added, “We hope this project will greatly help students in exploring their career paths and designing their visions.”
