Kia Sold 278,275 Units in March... 9% Increase Compared to Previous Month

Kia announced on the 3rd that it sold 278,275 units in the global market in March. Domestic sales were 53,046 units, and overseas sales were 224,911 units. Compared to the same period last year, domestic sales increased by 17.8% and overseas sales by 9.2%. Compared to February (254,320 units), sales rose by 9%.

The best-selling Kia model was the Sportage with 48,463 units sold. It was followed by the Seltos with 27,853 units and the Sorento with 20,034 units.

Domestic sales were led by sport utility vehicles (SUVs). The top-selling vehicle was the Sorento with 6,890 units. The second place was the Carnival with 6,873 units, and the third was the Bongo III with 6,806 units. Following these were the Sportage (6,018 units), K8 (4,569 units), Ray (4,155 units), Seltos (3,891 units), K5 (3,421 units), EV6 (3,009 units), and Morning (2,127 units).

Overseas, the Sportage sold 42,445 units, making it the best-selling model abroad. It was followed by the Seltos (23,962 units) and the K3 (16,892 units). Special sales amounted to 112 units domestically and 206 units overseas.

A Kia official stated, “The semiconductor parts supply disruption is gradually easing, and supply expansion is continuing due to increased production volume. We will continue to improve profitability through quantitative growth accompanied by a mix improvement centered on SUVs and eco-friendly vehicles.”
