Goheung-gun Introduces 3 New Thank-You Gifts for Hometown Love Donation Program

Gohung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) announced that it will add three new thank-you gifts for the Hometown Love Donation Program starting in April: Neungnasa Templestay, Grave Mowing Proxy Service, and Home Fire Safety Kit.

According to the county, in order to promote the region's attractions and expand donors' choices, a selection process for the three new thank-you gifts was conducted last month, and they plan to provide them starting this month.

The Neungnasa Templestay offers a happy rest experience with programs such as tea conversation with monks, Buddhist services, and sea meditation at Neungnasa Temple located on the slopes of Paryeongsan Mountain. The Grave Mowing Proxy Service is provided by the Gohung-gun Forestry Cooperative for those who have difficulty managing ancestral graves, mowing the grass on their behalf.

The Home Fire Safety Kit includes the installation of three firefighting safety facilities: a fire extinguisher, a fire alarm, and a gas timer cock, along with home safety inspections and fire prevention education.

A county official said, “We will do our best to continuously develop thank-you gifts that embody the unique charm of the region to broaden donors' choices. We also plan to prepare various experiential tourism service products to help attract tourists and form related populations.”

The Hometown Love Donation Program allows individuals to donate to local governments other than their place of residence. The local governments use the donations for residents' welfare and provide tax benefits and thank-you gifts to donors.

Gohung-gun currently offers about 380 clean agricultural, fishery, and livestock products such as Korean beef, yuzu, pomegranate, semi-dried fish, and rice, as well as Gohung Love Gift Certificates and Buncheong pottery as thank-you gifts. The newly added thank-you gifts?Neungnasa Templestay, Grave Mowing Proxy Service, and Home Fire Safety Kit?will also be officially provided starting in April.
