Seoul Inwangsan Mountain Fire Fully Extinguished After 25 Hours... No Casualties Reported

The wildfire on Inwangsan Mountain in Seoul, which started at around 11:53 AM the previous day, was completely extinguished after 25 hours.

The fire authorities announced that the Inwangsan wildfire was fully controlled as of 1:27 PM today.

It is reported that no one was injured in the fire. However, at one point, a 'Response Level 2' was issued, mobilizing nearby fire station personnel and equipment, and about 120 households were urgently evacuated.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government and forestry authorities are continuing to restrict access to Inwangsan Mountain today as they did yesterday, and plan to monitor for any flare-ups until the rain forecasted for tomorrow arrives.

The police and fire authorities are investigating the cause of the fire through joint inspections, keeping open the possibility of arson.
