Singer Himchan Accused of Sexual Assault: "I Admit All Charges"

Kim Himchan, a former member of the idol group 'B.A.P' accused of sexual assault, admitted to all charges at his first trial for another sexual crime.

At the sexual assault trial held at 10:30 a.m. on the 3rd at the Seoul Western District Court, presided over by Judge Kim Yumi of Criminal Division 6, Himchan's side stated, "We admit to all the charges." They also submitted a request asking the court to consolidate the trial with another case currently under police investigation, which is scheduled to be sent to the prosecution later this week.

When the court inquired about the opinion letter regarding the trial proceedings, Himchan's side responded, "We are working toward an amicable settlement with the victims and submitted the letter to ask the court to consider the ongoing police investigation."

Himchan is accused of sexually assaulting two intoxicated women at a bar in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, in April last year. Additionally, he is under police investigation for forcibly sexually assaulting another woman in the Eunpyeong-gu area of Seoul. The police plan to send Himchan to the prosecution with additional charges as early as this week.

Previously, in July 2018, he was apprehended by the police on charges of forcibly sexually assaulting a woman in her 20s at a pension in Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi Province, where they had gone on a trip together.
