At around 11:51 a.m. on the 3rd, a fire broke out in a commercial building housing Lotte Cinema in Bupyeong-dong, Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, prompting the fire authorities to respond. No casualties have been confirmed from the fire, but flames and smoke were reportedly visible on the building's exterior walls.
The fire authorities issued a 'Level 1 Response' alarm, which calls for the deployment of all personnel from the local fire station, at around 12:21 p.m., 30 minutes after the report was received. They have dispatched 35 pieces of equipment, including pump trucks, and 122 personnel to extinguish the fire. The building where the fire occurred has 14 floors above ground and 4 basement levels, but the exact point of origin has not yet been determined.
A fire official stated, "We received a report of a fire at Lotte Cinema and are currently conducting firefighting operations," adding, "We will verify whether there are any casualties."
