A wildfire that broke out on the 2nd in Hongseong, Chungnam, has continued for two days, and the Jeonnam Fire Department is making every effort to support the site.
According to the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Hong Young-geun) on the 3rd, the headquarters urgently dispatched 13 fire trucks and 35 personnel to Hongseong-gun the previous day.
The firefighters who arrived at the Hongseong wildfire site worked tirelessly through the night, providing 21 water supply supports and extinguishing 30 fires overnight.
In particular, they responded to the flames spreading with strong winds to eight houses adjacent to the forest, Jeongchungsa Temple, Agisae Farm (animal experience), and Seobu Middle School, preventing further spread of the fire.
The large-scale wildfire suppression operation in Hongseong has continued for two days, and as of 11 a.m. on the 3rd, the wildfire suppression rate is 73%. The remaining fire is difficult to approach and is accompanied by strong winds, making suppression challenging.
Meanwhile, the National Fire Agency took emergency measures as large wildfires broke out simultaneously across the country, including Seoul, Daejeon, and Hongseong, Chungnam.
They activated the Central Emergency Rescue Control Team and issued a nationwide fire force mobilization order, especially issuing Level 2, just below the highest Level 3, in response to the Hongseong wildfire.
