Volvo Cars Korea introduced its self-created eco-friendly character 'Sunrogi' on its official YouTube channel as part of its environmental activities.
On the 3rd, Volvo Korea announced that it released the first video featuring 'Sunrogi' on its YouTube channel on the 31st of last month.
'Sunrogi' is a character inspired by the reindeer, a representative herbivore of Sweden. Reindeer are a species of deer inhabiting the northern polar regions and tundra areas of the Eurasian continent, Alaska, and other places, and have recently been listed as endangered species on the red list due to global warming.
Volvo Korea has proposed various campaigns to actively respond to the climate crisis. A Volvo Korea official explained that the Sunrogi character was planned to encourage participation and build consensus on eco-friendly campaigns.
Starting with the first video, Volvo Korea will release main content every first Friday of the month at 6 p.m., and sub-content on the third Friday. They plan to present various content such as web entertainment, interviews, and vlogs featuring missions related to eco-friendly activities.
Im Man-sik, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Volvo Korea, said, "We planned the Sunrogi character with the hope that many generations will empathize with Volvo Cars' sustainability values and practice them in daily life," adding, "We ask for your great interest and participation in the various activities that 'Sunrogi' will showcase."
