A woman in her 20s who posted a message implying a terrorist attack targeting President Yoon Suk-yeol, who visited Daegu on the 1st, was apprehended by the police.
The Daegu Nambu Police Station announced on the 3rd that they have detained and are investigating a woman in her 20s, identified as A, on charges including attempted threats.
The police received a 112 report around noon stating, "Someone posted a message on SNS implying a terrorist attack on the president," identified the author A, and arrested her at her home around 9 p.m. the same day.
On the 1st, A posted on her SNS, "I'm going to Seomun Market today carrying a bomb," along with a screenshot of a post stating that the president would visit Seomun Market after throwing the first pitch.
At that time, President Yoon had thrown the first pitch at the professional baseball opening game at Daegu Samsung Lions Park and then visited Seomun Market. Since no actual terrorist attack occurred as implied by A's message, she is suspected of attempted threats.
The police stated, "We cannot disclose detailed information as the investigation is ongoing," and added, "We plan to decide on whether to transfer the case after conducting a thorough investigation with A."
